The beautiful accident: My second run at the totality of Legally Blonde.
This opportunity came in first year due to the then-second years being an all-female group. I remember that moment I got confirmed as Emmett: jubilation, disbelief, relief even. Much of my earliest experience of theatre was a story of rejection. This was possibly the first time I felt trusted as a performer.
Safe to say, I never let that be wasted, and I haven’t since.
An incredible experienced surrounded by an unbeievably talented and warm bunch of performers. Its left me with great relationships, and a belief in myself that has lasted since. For this experience, and also because of its music and deceptively clever writing, Legally Blonde is my favourite musical of all time.
Oh yes, and I did once play Kyle late into my secondary school days. That was pretty funny!
No matter what I go on to do, this will always be one of my favourite performances. For me, this was moving from the prologue to the beginning of chapter one. Unforgettable.
